Rita Edochi who was a guest speaker at the end violence against children seminar which ended today in Abuja told NAN her life experience and how she was violently abuse n denied.
I was sexually abused at a very young age, I could remember I was in primary six (6) by then, iwas heading to the hospital when this guy who was a family friend used diabolic means to sexually abuse Me and on that process I got pregnant . At first I was afraid to open up to my mum because she was very strict and I was scared she would beat Me up.
with the strict nature of my mum I was unable to tell her for a few weeks but I don't stand a chance, I mean i cant hide it till eternity, so I made up my
Mind and I told her what happened unknowingly to me the mum of the boy was my mum's friend but unexpectedly when we got to theirs house the boy denied of doing such to Me.
My mum was angry as we where going home because there was little or nothing she could, and later came up with the idea of an Abortion and I was more scared this time because I might loss my life in the process, I told my mum and plead to her that I don't want an abortion luckily she heard Me that was how I gave birth to the baby n my mum took care of the baby while i go back to school, that is why im proud of my mum.
I want to use this meduim to call on parent to listen to their kids and make the to see then as best friends who they can share anything thing with!
